 General Info: Guilford County is a county located in the U.S. state of North Carolina. As of 2000, the population was 421,048. Its county seat is Greensboro. Since 1938, an additional county court has been located in High Point, making Guilford one of only a handful of counties nationwide with a dual court system. High Point's courthouse is the 101st courthouse in North Carolina.In 2003, the previous Greensboro - Winston-Salem - High Point metropolitan statistical area (MSA) was re-defined by the U.S. Office of Management and Budget resulting in the formation of the Greensboro-High Point MSA and the Winston-Salem MSA. The 2004 population estimate for the Greensboro-High Point MSA was 667,542. The Greensboro - Winston-Salem - High Point combined metropolitan statistical area (CMSA), popularly referred to as the Piedmont Triad, had an estimated population of 1,513,576 in 2006.
