General Info: Denton is a town in Davidson County. The population was 1,450 at the 2000 census. Nestled into southern Davidson County is a hidden treasure. Bordering High Rock Lake and only minutes from Badin Lake, the area is a recreational paradise. These pristine lakes encompass several hundred miles of shoreline. The 15,000-acre High Rock Lake has also hosted Bass Masters tournaments on more than one occasion. Uwharrie National Forest, and the Uwharrie Mountains are only a 15-minute drive from Denton. These mountains are said to be the oldest in North America. Here, you'll find thousands of acres for hunting, hiking, camping, and horseback riding.
